Helpful tips to catching bass

Are you tired of going bass fishing and not catching anything. In this article I'm going to tell you some helpful fishing tips to catch bass, some keys things you should know about catching bass or any fish in there habitat, what they eat, were they like to hide, and fishing tackle you should use.

Bass can be found in moving and non moving water with a lot of oxygen and aquatic vegetation where there food and cover for them. The best spot to fishing for bass on the edge vegetation or pockets in the vegetation, that where they like to hang out. That were there food normally hang out and proved cover from other fish or animals from eating them.

Bass like to eat about thing they can swallow like fish, crayfish, small mammals, and insects. Pretty much any lure out there can catch you bass. My personal favourites to catch bass will be spinner baits, 1/8oz spoons, swim baits, and small jig head with gulp alive minnow or live minnow(live minnow is a lot better then fakes). How fast you reel in can make the difference from catching fish or not catch anything at all. Start off reel in fast then slow it down until you find the right speed. I recommand you to get Bass Fishing Essentials, there a lot of great information, that helped me catch a lot more bass.

Pike and Bass on centerpin

I headed out to my bass spot this afternoon to hook up with some bass. I was only at this spot for 2 hours today. It was good day I hooked up with 2 bass and 1 pike, it was cool to see a pike at the end of my line, it didn't put up that much of a fight, it did a few pulls then it stopped. I used the same bait and tackle from last post.

Bass opener

Yesterday was the begining of bass season in southern ontario. I was going to go out yesterday to fish for some bass, but the weather was pretty bad. Today the weather was in my favour, I set up my float rod and headed out to my bass spot. I use okuma aventa float reel and rod combo, with 7gram slip float and small jig head, the choice of bait I use was gulp alive smelt. It turned out to be a good day to start off bass opener. I landed few nice size smallmouth bass and I lost few.

Panfishing

Today was nice day to be outside, so I packed up my fishing gear and headed to my favourite panfishing spot. When I got there I couldn't believe all the fish swimming around. Most of been over 50 pan fish swimming in the shallows. The rig set up I used was small bobber with a foot of line from #8 hook with small piece of worm and small split shot. On my first cast once my bobber hit the water, few secounds went by bobber down and fish on!!, reeled it in and it was my first pumpkin seed of the day. After I released the fish, I stepped back on my reel handle and broke it. I was pissed about that, but I continue to use the reel. Everytime I cought a fish I had to use two fingers and my thumb to reel a fish in, but it wasn't has hard I thought it would be.It was like screwing in bolt. About every other cast I had a fish on. I ownly fished for few hours today because I had things to do. I most of cought 30 plus fish today.

Deepwater Disaster Blues

Last Night

Last night buddy and I went out to do some catfishing at our favourite catfishing spot. We were there for an hour before we got a fish, my buddy didn't know he had a little catfish on. I forgot my camera in the car I couldn't get a picture of it. After we releashed the fish I went back to my car to get my camera. Hour later my buddy landed his first bowfin, it was cool to see it was the first one we seen come out of there. So we fished for half hour, then we backed up headed home.

Some fishing before work

I got up earily this morning to do some fishing before work. I went to my favourite sunfish spot. I was only being there for an hour and half, I hooked up with over 30 sunfish, alot of these guys were bigger then my hand. I was using microlite rod and reel with 8lb fluorocarbon line, # 14 hook, small piece of worm, and small float. With this set up these fish felt like monster, and they were fighting hard.

This is average size fish I was catching today.

I can't believe the pond is almost fished out, the niagara peninsula conservation authority filled the pond with trout on saturday for trout season opener and now there no more fish left. I guess it's back to streams and the river for trout.
